First Report of dayflower (Commelina communis L.) as a Natural Host of Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV)

In summary, the virus identified in this sample was confirmed as a ToBRFV isolate. To our knowledge, this is the first report of Commelina communis being naturally infected with ToBRFV. Commelina communis is an annual monocotyledonous plant distributed in eastern regions of China including Yunnan, Sichuan and Gansu, and can also be found in Vietnam, North Korea, Japan, the Russian Far East and North America. It exhibits low soil specificity, strong adaptability, and high drought tolerance.
