Electronic device ownership in households in the UK 2017, by type

This statistic illustrates the share of households that owned various electronic devices in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2017, by type of device. The top three devices that were present in households were: TV sets, smartphones, and landline phones. These three devices had shares of 95, 92 and 83 percent respectively. In addition, every household had at least one electronic device out of the list of devices mentioned.TV sets and landline phones were present in households for many years now, but smartphones' popularity grew by a large margin in recent years. The ownership of smartphones increased considerably in recent years, and not just for young people. Older generations' ownership of smartphones also increased.
