Sponges of the Myeik Archipelago, Myanmar. Sponges: Demospongiae

This project was an initial effort to identify and document the biodiversity of sponges (Porifera) of Myanmar, particularly around the Myeik Archipelago. Although several of these samples are identified only to class, we hope that future research on DNA barcoding of sponges and additional taxonomic surveys of this important group in Myanmar will allow for increased taxonomic resolution.
