Main priorities for museums after COVID-19 according to museum professionals UK 2020

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the museum industry hard. Many organizations had to close to the public due to lockdowns and strict safety regulations put in place to contain the health emergency. According to a May 2020 study focusing on the COVID-19 impact on museums in the United Kingdom (UK), encouraging visitors to return was the main priority after the pandemic, indicated by 94 percent of surveyed museum professionals. Meanwhile, 56 percent of respondents considered increasing philanthropy as a priority for UK museums after the COVID-19 crisis.
