Wild Type (WT) and carbonic anhydrase knockout (CA IX KO) mice were fed water with 0.5% sucrose (control) or 0.28M NH<sub>4</sub>Cl + 0.5% sucrose for 9 days. On day 7, saline or ExoY<sup>+</sup> (2.5x10<sup>6</sup> CFUs) was injected intratracheally and blood was collected 48 hours later for analysis of cytokines and complete blood count (CBC) with differentials. Open symbols represent female mice, and closed symbols represent male mice. Data represents means + SD. Three-way ANOVA and a Tukey’s post hoc test were used to compare groups. *Significant difference (<i>P</i> < 0.05) from control.
