Creasing (known as albedo breakdown), a kind of cracking in citrus pericarp, is a physiological disorder may cause serious economic losses to the citrus industry. This disorder has been widely described in mandarin and sweet orange. Many attempts have been made to find solutions to citrus creasing, however, there were not many conclusive identifications of the gene expression level changes that lead to the disorder, and therefore there is no fundamental solution to the problem. Transcriptional profiling in healthy and creasing pericarp of citrus was constructed.
