资源简介:
Microphallus 'livelyi' is a sterilizing trematode parasite that commonly infects the New Zealand freshwater snail Potamopyrgus antipodarum. The P. antipodarum-M. livelyi interaction is a textbook example of host-parasite coevolution in natural populations. Some form of Microphallus also infects Potamopyrgus estuarinus, a closely related snail species that inhabits estuaries; virtually nothing is known about the interactions between Microphallus and P. estuarinus. Here, we provide raw RNA sequencing reads and de novo transcriptome assemblies for Microphallus collected from both P. antipodarum and P. estuarinus. These data set the stage for future studies geared towards characterizing this coevolutionary interaction at the molecular level, local adaptation, and molecular evolution and phylogenetics of this and other snail-trematode systems.
