the high-temperature treatment temperatures are set at 24 , 28, and 32, respectively. For elevated temperature treatments, the temperature was increased gradually from 20 at 9:00 to the specified temperature and held at these temperatures until 16:00, as previously described . In addition, the duration of the high-temperature treatment was set at 7 days, which is close to the current average duration of recorded lake heatwaves of 7.7days. Thirty individual Aquatica leii larvae samples were separately collected from different high-temperature treatments and control, as described above . The experiments were conducted in triplicate for each treatment.
