PARAGON Cruise: Sinking Particle Eukaryotic Metatranscriptomes

The Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (SCOPE) PARticles And Growth in the Oceanic Nutricline (PARAGON) I and II Cruises were carried out in July 2021 and August 2022, respectively. Cruises took place in the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre. During these cruises, particle samples were collected from a net trap that was deployed at 150 m depth for 24 hours. Eukaryotic metatranscriptomes were collected from these net trap samples immediately upon net trap retrieval and following 3 and 6-day incubations. Metatranscriptomes were also collected from water samples at the same site and depth and net trap retrieval.
