青藏高原雅鲁藏布江缝合带及其两侧邻区是研究新特提斯洋演化的关键区域。对区内最早的新特提斯沉积证据目前还不够充分,对东部和西部的沉积序列还未完整揭示,地层学、沉积学等研究都比较薄弱,制约了对新特提斯形成和演化、印度-欧亚板块碰撞的理解和认识。本科考队对西藏中部、东部和南部一些关键地区开展中生代地层、古生物和沉积学研究,寻找区内关于新特提斯开启、演化和海水退出的地层和沉积证据。本数据集是我们在上述地区进行野外地质考察的工作日志以及地质现象、地层剖面、采集化石照片和工作图片的集合,一共包括三条,所考察的地层包括东部洛隆-八宿、中部仁布-朗县和阿里地区的白垩-古近系及放射虫硅质岩地层。
The Yarlung Zangbo Suture Zone on the Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent areas on both sides are a key region for studying the evolution of the Neo-Tethys Ocean. Currently, the earliest sedimentary evidence of the Neo-Tethys in this region is insufficient, the sedimentary sequences in its eastern and western parts have not been fully revealed, and studies on stratigraphy, sedimentology and other related fields are relatively weak, which restricts the understanding of the formation and evolution of the Neo-Tethys Ocean and the India-Eurasia plate collision. Our scientific expedition team conducted research on Mesozoic strata, paleontology and sedimentology in some key areas of central, eastern and southern Tibet, aiming to find stratigraphic and sedimentary evidence for the initiation, evolution and seawater retreat of the Neo-Tethys Ocean in this region. This dataset is a collection of fieldwork logs, photos of geological phenomena, stratigraphic sections, collected fossil specimens and on-site working images from our field geological surveys in the above-mentioned areas, which includes three parts. The surveyed strata cover the Cretaceous-Paleogene and radiolarian siliceous rock strata in the eastern Luolong-Baxu, central Renbu-Langxian and Ngari areas.
