An observation dataset of soil temperature, volumetric water content, and electrical conductivity of Suaeda salsa Wetland in the Liaohe Estuary (2022-2023)

The Liaohekou Wetland is located in Liaoning Province and belongs to the northern coastal estuary wetland type. It is a habitat for numerous wild animals and plants and has important ecological functions. As one of the main community species in this wetland, the growth status of Suaeda salsa is closely related to the soil environment of the wetland. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of tidal processes on soil physicochemical indicators in the Suaeda salsa wetland at the mouth of the Liao River, this study collected soil temperature, soil volumetric moisture content, and soil conductivity data from two sensors of the same model in the intertidal zone (40 ° 50 ′ 10.50 "E, 121 ° 50 ′ 56.86" N) of the Liaohe River estuary wetland. Two sensors (Site1 and Site2) are located 5m apart, with a data time resolution of 15 minutes and a collection depth of -5cm, providing high-frequency soil environment monitoring data throughout the year. These data are collected by professional instruments at fixed observation points, ensuring the accuracy and continuity of the data. After data collection, the first step was to check for outliers and missing values. The start and end time of the data is from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023, with a data interval of 15 minutes. In 2022, Site1 received a total of 35040 pieces of data, with 0 missing data and a missing detection rate of 0%. After data quality control, the effective rate of soil volume moisture content and soil temperature data was 100%. The drift time period of soil conductivity data was from 13:30:00 on September 7, 2022 to 14:45:00 on September 24, 2022. After quality control exclusion, the effective rate was 96.76%; Site2 received a total of 32440 pieces of data, with 2600 missing pieces of data. The missing time period was from 14:30:00 on May 5, 2022 to 16:15:00 on June 1, 2022. The missing data was marked with # N/A, with a missing rate of 7.62%. The missing data was caused by a damaged data cable. In 2023, Site1 and Site2 will receive 35040 pieces of data respectively, with 0 missing data and a missing detection rate of 0%, and no drift data. The data is organized into a spreadsheet format, including worksheet data and worksheet metadata. Worksheet data is the data, and worksheet metadata is the index of auxiliary parameters such as sensors, which facilitates subsequent analysis and research.
