Data and R code supporting "Fish Herbivores Targeted by Fishing are Key to Benthic Algal Suppression in Barbados"

This repository contains the datasets and R code supporting the manuscript “Fish Herbivores Targeted by Fishing are Key to Benthic Algal Suppression in Barbados.” The study used a controlled field experiment on South Bellairs reef, within the Folkestone Marine Reserve on the west coast of Barbados, to examine how size-selective herbivore exclusion affected benthic algal biomass and community composition. The repository includes ash-free dry weight measurements collected from experimental settlement tiles, photographic estimates of benthic percent cover, and the R script used for data preparation, statistical modelling, post hoc comparisons, model diagnostics, summary tables, and manuscript figures. Additional information about the experimental design, variables, data processing, and software requirements is provided in the accompanying README file.
