A reinforced concrete column with a rectangular cross section of 36" x 28" and a clear height of 8'-10" was subjected to an axial load equal to 10% of the gross concrete compression capacity followed by a bi-axial ACI-374 symmetric cyclic displacement reversals until the lateral resistance of the specimen degraded to 20% or less of the peak resistance exhibited during the test. The test was conducted at the Multi-Axial Subassemblage Testing (MAST) facility at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
