Gut Microbiota of Infants fed different formula types versus breastmilk Raw sequence reads

Formula feeding, compared with breastfeeding, has been shown to alter the development of the gut microbiome, but no previous study has examined the impact of formula type. This study identified differences in gut microbiota between groups of Hispanic infants who consumed breastmilk, traditional cow's milk-based formula, or lactose-reduced formula with added corn syrup solids (ASF), and also whether formula type versus breastfeeding affected developmental outcomes at 24-months of age.
