We have tested three probiotic bacteria for their bacteriological effects in continuous culture pharyngeal microcosms generated using a constant depth film fermenter. Tested probiotics include Streptococcus salivarius, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum. Microcosms were isolated and extracted across several time points including baseline (controls), dosing (during probiotic dosing) and washout (following cessation of dosing).
