资源简介:
This dataset contains east/west (U) and north/south (V) current velocities measured in the Gulf of Alaska. These data were collected aboard R/V Sikuliaq during the Spring 2018 cruise of the Northern Gulf of Alaska Long Term Ecological Research (NGA LTER) project. From April 18 to May 5, 2018, R/V Sikuliaq's Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (SADCP) measured currents in averaged depth bins at locations along the ship track. Data are provided in two zip files: nga_SKQ201810S_SADCP_csv.zip, containing 4 CSV-formatted ASCII files; and nga_SKQ201810S_SADCP_netCDF.zip, containing the same data in 4 netCDF-formatted files. R/V Sikuliaq's RDI Ocean Surveyor (OS) ADCPs are 150 kHz and 75 kHz phased arrays that are capable of pinging in broadband (bb), narrowband (nb), or interleaved modes. During cruise SKQ201810S, they were operated only in the narrowband mode ('nb') and data collection was split into two legs by a change in the heading offset ('A'). Data were initially acquired via the University of Hawaii Data Acquisition System (UHDAS), stored as a Common Ocean Data Access System (CODAS) database, and archived in the Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R). An additional copy of the edited data has been archived with the Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP. See Online Resources for further information on these other national archives.
