Burkholderia gadioli pv. gladioli strain BNM349 was isolated from gladiolus bulb showing rotting symptoms. The strain exhibited a strong antimicrobial acitivity against phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi based on antibiosis and mycophagy mechanisms. Foliar application of bioactive metabolites produced by the strain BNM349 reduced the symptoms of the common bacterial blight of bean caused by Xanthomonas citri pv. fuscans.
