Escherichia coli that colonize the bovine RAJ mucosa. Escherichia coli strain:ONT:H25 SH1

Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) cause human hemorrhagic colitis and life threatening sequelae. Healthy cattle are the reservoir for these pathogens. The most notorious serotype among the EHEC strains are the O157:H7 that colonize an unusual tissue site, the bovine recto-anal junction mucosa. This work annotates two sequenced E. coli isolates from cattle that carry similar virulence genes and have the same tissue tropism (E. coli ONT:H25 SH1 and SH2) and one sequenced isolate that carries similar virulence genes but does not have the same tissue tropism (E. coli ONT:H25 SH3).
