Northeast US Tidal Marsh Sediment Soil Properties - UMass-NRCS

This dataset contains soil organic matter and soil dry bulk density for 435 tidal marsh surface samples and 39 sediment cores ranging 1-2 m collected from 19 sites across the Northeast United States. Samples were collected in transects away from tidal creeks to characterize spatial patterns in marsh soil properties.

Resource Description: This dataset contains blue carbon information for 435 surface samples from 19 sites along the Northeast US coastline in the states of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Samples are representative of the top 10 cm, which represent roughly 25 years of sediment accumulation between 1995 and 2020.

Resource Description: Locations of sediment cores listed in LOI and BD depth series. Locations and elevations were obtained with RTK GPS, except where “GPS_method” notes that a handheld GPS was used.
