Effects of compound probiotics on pharmacokinetics of CYP450s probe drugs in rats

This study aims to elucidate the impact of VSL#3 on Pharmacogenomics and its effects on the metabolism of probe drugs for cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzymes, specifically omeprazole, tolbutamide, midazolam, metoprolol, phenacetin and chlorzoxazone. Male Wistar rats were administered with drinking water containing VSL#3 or not for 14 days and then intragastrically administered cytochrome P450 (CYP450) probe cocktail to investigate host CYP450s metabolic phenotype.
