The Pediculus humanus corporis genome was sequenced by the J Craig Venter Institute using a whole genome shotgun (WGS) approach, using genomic DNA from the inbred USDA strain provided by John Clark at the University of Massachusetts. The estimated 112 Mb genome was sequenced to a projected 8-fold coverage. This WGS project has the project accession AAZO00000000. The current version of the project (01) has the accession number AAZO01000000, and consists of sequences AAZO01000001-AAZO01008555 and the scaffolds DS234984-DS236865.
