Cutmark Evidence for Cannibalism and Meat Storage among Neanderthal Groups at Les Pradelles", currently being reviewed This dataset includes the GIS data and QGIS project used for the analysis of cutmarks performed by Soulier et al. on Neanderthal and reindeer bones from the archaeological site of Marillac Les Pradelles (southwestern France, Middle Palaeolithic). It includes the following files: LP_cuts_neand.gpkg: polyline geopackage with the recording of cutmarks on Neandertal long bones LP_cuts_reindeer.gpkg: polyline geopackage with the recording of cutmarks on reindeer long bones LP_frag_neand.gpkg: polygon geopackage with the recording of the anatomical position of fragments for Neandertal long bone remains LP_frag_reindeer.gpkg: polygon geopackage with the recording of the anatomical position of fragments for reindeer long bone remains. rectangles_rang.gpkg: polygon geopackage with reference rectangles that define skeletal element, portion and face for each part of reindeer long bones. This file can be used to automatically attribute skeletal element, portion and face automatically for each cutmark and fragment. template_neand.gpkg: polyline geopackage with the background of the Neandetal long bones. template_rang.gpkg: polyline geopackage with the background of the reindeer long bones. Each skeletal element is represented by drawings with anterior, lateral, posterior and medial faces.
