Zambia Decoupling Dataset, 1950–2024: Annual Emissions, Economy, Energy and Land-Use Indicators
收藏资源简介:
The Zambia Decoupling Dataset 1950–2024 is an annual country-level time series for Zambia. It has 75 rows, one per year from 1950 to 2024, and 62 columns, in a CSV of about 29 KB. It was assembled to test whether Zambia’s economic growth has been decoupled from its carbon emissions. It brings together fossil, cement and land-use CO₂, primary energy, electricity generation by source, population, GDP and forest area. Sources are the Global Carbon Budget 2025, Jones et al. via Our World in Data, the Energy Institute and EIA, Ember, World Bank World Development Indicators via Gapminder, the Maddison Project 2023 and FAO’s Forest Resources Assessment 2020. Beyond the copied series, the file includes per-capita and intensity indicators, and a set of exploratory electricity-sector CO₂ estimates built on assumed emission factors. The manuscript does not use those estimates. Coverage differs by variable and thins out in 2023–24, and blank cells are gaps rather than zeros. The main caveats are that land-use CO₂ is model-based and uncertain, that primary energy excludes traditional biomass, and that the 2024 hydro value is provisional. The GDP series also differ between Maddison and the World Bank, so use one series per analysis. The full variable dictionary and handling guidance are in the data description doc.
