Early transcriptional response to drought stress down-regulates growth-related genes in a California oak

We use the drought tolerant oak, Q. douglasii Hook & Arn, or Californian blue oak, to test early transcriptional response to drought stress. We imposed a 10-day drought stress to 48 seedlings germinated from seven maternal trees (also called families) from a single natural site in California, before harvesting and sequencing transcriptomes of all seedlings.
