Murine lung transcriptomes of Neiserria subclava and Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection

To characterize the dynamic changes and differences of lung transcriptomic profiles induced by intratracheal infection of Neiserria subclava and Pseudomonas aeruginosa over a 14-day course. Overall design: For intratracheal mouse infection experiments, 6-10 week old C57BL/6 mice were anesthetized using 80 mg/kg body weight ketamine and 10 mg/kg body weight xylazine and infected via intratracheal delivery with the Neisseria subflava (isolate SG-KL01) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa at 2 x 107 CFU in sterile phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). Mice were euthanized on Day 0, 2, 4, 7 , and 14 and the lung tissues were harvested and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen for total RNA extraction.
