资源简介:
The "Wind" dataset provides a comprehensive collection of mean daily U-wind speeds measured in Earth's troposphere from 1981 to 2023. This dataset was used in the research paper titled "Connection Between Planetary Orbits and Global Wind Measurements in Earth's Troposphere," which investigates the potential correlation between the relative positions of Earth and Mars and variations in global wind patterns.MethodologyThe data collection methodology involves averaging daily U-wind speeds across all latitudes, longitudes, and atmospheric pressure levels. These measurements were obtained from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) reanalysis project, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and reliability. All values from leap days were excluded to maintain consistency in the temporal dataset.Techniques UsedStatistical analysis techniques, including two-sample T-tests assuming unequal variances, Pearson correlation coefficients, and regression analysis, were employed to explore the relationship between U-wind speeds and Mars' position relative to Earth. The analysis considered hypothetical accelerations in the U-direction due to Mars' gravitational influence, and results were evaluated for statistical significance and potential confounding factors.Ethical ConsiderationsThe data utilized in this research is publicly available from reputable sources, including the NOAA's Physical Sciences Laboratory and NASA's Planetary Ephemeris. The study adheres to all legal and ethical requirements for data use, ensuring transparency and reproducibility of results.RelevanceThis dataset is crucial for researchers examining extraterrestrial influences on Earth's weather and climate systems. By providing detailed wind measurements over an extensive period, it allows for robust analysis of potential dynamic interactions between planetary positions and terrestrial atmospheric conditions. The findings can enhance weather forecasting and climate modeling by incorporating astronomical factors. The dataset is available for public access and can be used to reproduce the study's results or to conduct further research in the field of planetary influence on Earth's atmospheric dynamics. For additional information on the data sources and preparation, please refer to the U-wind repository at NOAA and the positional data of major solar system objects from NASA's Horizons system.
