Rice blast is the most important disease of rice. Breeding of resistant varieties are most effective in controlling blast. To date, several blast resistance genes have been isolated and identified. However, it is not clear how the resistance gene has been obtained in the host plant. The purpose is to compare the sequences of Pia/Pias, Pik, Pii genes and other NLR resistance loci in wild rice using the whole genome sequence and RNA-sequence of wild rice.
