资源简介:
Canopic chest from the collection of the Egyptian Museum of the University of Bonn (Inv. No. BoSAe 3323). The ancient Egyptian viscera box from the Ptolemaic period (ca. 300-100 BCE) has the function of a storage and protective container for the mummified organs of the deceased Her-ib-Djehuti, son of Pa-di-Usir. The scenes on the four box surfaces represent in summary the rites around the revival of Osiris, which were for the deceased due to his identification with this god the condition for a living beyond existence. Furthermore, the dead person is connected to the cyclic solar cycle, whose regenerative phase takes place in the underworld.
