Precocious development of self-awareness in dolphins

This study was conducted to investigate the early emergence of mirror self-recognition (MSR) in young bottlenose dolphins. We exposed two young dolphins to an underwater mirror and analyzed video recordings of their behavioral responses over a 3-year period.
