资源简介:
Lake Wollumboola is a unique ICOLL (Intermittently Closed and Open Lake and Lagoon) on the NSW South Coast. Sitting above sea-level, the fluctuations in water level based upon rainfall, runoff, opening and evaporation, are critical to the habitat of a more than 300 fauna species and 300 plant species. The area is significant for its large numbers of shorebirds that migrate to the area throughout the year, while also playing host to a number of resident species. Shoalhaven City Council and NSW NPWS have management plans in place to protect and conserve the value of the lake, and with the support of the Green Army would like to expand that capacity to deliver on those objectives including areas of weed control, enhancing connectivity and monitoring the environments surrounding the lake.
