Gaseous HCl Measurement and Model from the Halifax Fog and Air Quality Study (HaliFAQS) in Halifax, Canada (2019)

This dataset contains outdoor gas-phase measurements collected from May 25, 2029 to June 25, 2019 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The data were collected as part of the Halifax Fog and Air Quality Study (HaliFAQS) to investigate hydrogen chloride (HCl) in the polluted marine boundary layer and construct a model that can provide insight on Cl morning tropospheric oxidation chemistry in polluted coastal atmospheres. This data supports the study "Reactive Chlorine in the Polluted Marine Boundary Layer during the Halifax Fog and Air Quality Study (HaliFAQS)" (Furlani et al. 2026). Gas-phase measurements include HCl along with nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2, NOx) and ozone (O3). Model measurements include HCl and primary radical production, both for select days during the campaign. The dataset also includes supporting meteorological data (temperature, %RH, rain, wind speed, wind direction, and solar irradiance.
