IoT and Social Media Addiction in Bangladesh – Behavioural Impact and Policy Response: A Cross-sectional Study

This research explores the growing concern of digital addiction in Bangladesh, particularly the behavioral impact of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and social media platforms. Drawing on data from 600 participants—including youth, working professionals, and homemakers—the study reveals significant psychological, physical, and social consequences driven by hyper connectivity. Key findings include high levels of device dependency, emotional distress such as FOMO and irritability, and disruption of sleep and productivity. The report concludes with policy and technological design recommendations to mitigate addiction and promote digital well-being.
