Data on work integrated learning and academic performance: The mediating role of learning satisfaction

Abstract
The article presents survey dataset collected from 540 undergraduate who participated in work integrated learning programs. Data were gathered using structured, self-administered online and physical questionnaire between November 2025 to January 2026. The survey instrument comprised 35 items organized into three sections: demographic characteristics grade point average (7 items), work integrated learning experiences (16 items), learning satisfaction (12 items). All construct items were measured on five-point Likert scale. The data were originally collected as part of study examining the mediating role of learning satisfaction in relationship between placement experiences and academic performance, the findings of which reported in companion article (Shah et al 2026). The complete raw dataset file is publicly available via Mendeley data. The data can be reused for instrument validation, meta-analyses and secondary analyses in higher education research.
