Matlab files used for analysing the neural data published in the manuscript: 'The influence of stimulus history on directional coding in the monarch butterfly brain' at Journal of Comparative Physiology A.
To run the script 'J_comp_physiol_stim_history' in MATLAB, you need the circular toolbox by Berens (https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/10676-circular-statistics-toolbox-directional-statistics). When running the script, you need to call first the 'stats' folder and then the 'responses' folder.
'responses' contains matlab files from 147 recorded and spike-sorted single units from the central complex of restrained Monarch butterflies. The variable 'binned_resp_all' contains the mean firing rate at different solar azimuths (10° bins; 36 in total). The columns represent the neural responses to different stimuli.
'stats' contain different parameters of each of the 147 recorded units.
