The authority for this study is contained in the Park, Parkway and Recreation Area Study Act of June 1936. The request for assistance in developing a long range park program for the county came from the President of the Scott County Conservation Board by letter of June 26, 1957.
The report covers preliminary findings on the park and recreation potentialities of Scott County, and is in response to the request from the Scott County Conservation Board that Interior Missouri Basin Field Committee assist in the preparation of
a long-range planning program for county parks.
