Metabolic remodeling controlled by enhancers in the onset of cardiac aging in murine cardiomyocyte

The role of histone modifications in age-related cardiac malfunctioning remains largely unknown. The identification of the specific promoters and enhancers involved in this process is crucial for a better understanding of cardiac aging. To address this issue, we investigated the role of H3K27ac, H3K4me1, and H3K27me3 - three histone modifications necessary for the regulation of enhancer and promoter activity - in the onset of cardiac aging in murine CMs.
