Adipose tissue has a high rate of somatic mutation in mice, but the mechanisms underpinning this are unknown. Here we sequenced the whole genome of DNA extracted from gonadal adipose tissue and tail from one obese and one lean C57BL/6ByJ male mouse. The DNA was sequenced on the Illumina Hiseq2500 platform.
