资源简介:
This dataset supports the study “Should Blind Judokas and Partially Sighted Judokas Compete Together? A Reflection from the Study of the Temporal Structure of Combat”, published in the Journal of Human Kinetics (Gutiérrez-Santiago et al., 2023).The research analyses differences in the temporal structure of combat between blind (B1) and partially sighted (B2 and B3) male para-judokas, with the aim of examining whether these athletes should compete together under the same competitive conditions. The sample includes all male combats (n = 232) from the 2018 IBSA Judo World Championships, involving 172 elite para-judokas.An observational methodology was applied using a previously validated observational instrument designed to register sequential and temporal variables of judo combat. Data were recorded using LINCE software and analysed with IBM SPSS Statistics (v20.0). Variables include combat pairings by visual category (B1, B2, B3), total combat time, standing, ground and pause times, displacement and gripping during pauses, number and duration of sequences, and combat outcome. The repository contains a single dataset file in IBM SPSS Statistics format (.sav), titled “ParaJudo_TemporalStructure_IBSA2018_Men”, which enables replication of the statistical analyses reported in the article and supports further research on time–motion characteristics, performance demands, and classification fairness in elite para judo.
