Metagenome of Changme Khang glacier sample

The main aim of this study is to investigate the microbial diversity of Glacier ice sample. The samples have been collected from Changme Khang glacier, Sikkim, India. The microbes living in such extreme cold temperatures are known as Psychrophiles. psychrophiles are important to study in terms of their enzymes and metabolic pathways. The study of microbial diversity in such environment with Culture-independent approaches makes it more significant with respect to huge chances of getting novel species, novel enzymes and novel biochemical pathways among them. This study can also be greatly correlated to climate change happening all over the earth.
