This series is comprised of Acts of the New South Wales Parliament relating to Railways or subjects pertaining to the administration, employment conditions, works, proposed construction, extension of lines etc. and retained by the Public Transport Commission of New South Wales and its predecessors. Included are Acts dealing with private railways, colliery railways, the connection of private lines with government lines, authorisation for the construction or closing of lines, changes in the administrative structure, authorisation for the establishment of tramways, land resumption, prerequisites and conditions to be met before a line was constructed.These were the copies retained by the Public Transport Commission of NSW and their predecessors. It may have been viewed in the State Rail Archives as series R160 and could have been previously cited as such in notes by researchers at State Rail Archives or in publications or unpublished works.
