In this study, we use recently developed monoclonal antibodies to deplete CD4+ and CD8+ T cells during primary guinea pig cytomegalovirus infections in male and pregnant guinea pigs, and evaluated the role of these T cell populations in controlling placental infection and congenital transmission.
