An overturning design procedure for BRBs was developed and evaluated. A simplified model with a rigid strongback was used to evaluate a broad set of input configurations. A more detailed model with actual member sizes was used to design and evaluate a subset of the input configurations, in order to evaluate the ability of proposed strongback design methods to support configurations without BRBs at every level. Nonlinear time history analysis and incremental dynamic analysis was used to evaluate structural responses and probability of collapse. Summarized results (e.g., peak story drift from each ground motion) and statistics, as well as complete source code for re-running the analyses and re-creating the plots, are provided.
