multi stars nelder mead for unit commitment in python

This paper presents a customized derivative-freeoptimization approach based on the Multi-start Nelder\u2013Meadalgorithm to solve the multi-period economic dispatch problem onthe IEEE 9-Bus system. The proposed method handles intertemporalconstraints, such as ramp rates, and adapts to varyingload profiles across multiple time steps. Comparative simulationsdemonstrate that the multistart strategy improves cost efficiencyand robustness over classical dynamic programming and ETAPbasedsolutions. The results highlight the flexibility of the methodand its potential for scalable integration into larger powersystems.
