Metagenomic assemblies taken from Active layer soil from Ny Alesund Svalbard in April 2018 and Sep 2019. Metagenomic assembly

Five soil location were collected from Ny Alesund, Svalbard active layer soils near the Bayelva permafrost monitoring location. Each site was named BPF for "Bayelva permafrost" 1 through 5. One or two centemeter increments of soil were taken for DNA extraction and sequenced on a Illumina Novaseq for metagenomes. BPF1 and 2 were taken in April 2018 with a SIPRE auger corer and BPF 3, 4 and 5 were taken in September 2019 with a field shovel while the active layer permafrost soil was thawed.
