Petabite Maritime Data: Extracted ship sightings from space based on Sentinel-1 GRDH data with first level of pixel identification

The Sentinel-1 ship sighting product contains information on ships that have been captured by the Sentinel-1 SAR instrument. With 10 m resolution the Sentinel-1 GRDH data is sufficient to identify ships and even derive approximate information on their size and orientation. Small boats can also be detected through their wake.
