Swarm-Derived Indices of Geomagnetic Activity

Indices of geomagnetic activity, derived from magnetometer data from the satellites of ESA's Swarm mission, for the year 2015. The indices are the satellite-based counterparts to the traditionally used Dst, ap and AE indices, which are derived from magnetometer data from ground stations. Hence, included here are the Swarm-Dst, Swarm-ap and Swarm-AE indices, in 1-minute time resolution, from 1/1/2025 up to 31/12/2015 23:59 UT.

The data are in a single .mat file, containing the variables:

time: 525600x1 array with time in MATLAB datenum format

timevec: 525600x6 array with the time in 6 columns (year, month, day, hour, minute, second)

SwarmSYMH: 525600x1 array with the values of the Swarm-based Dst (or SYM-H) index

SwarmAp: 525600x1 array with the values of the Swarm-based ap index

SwarmAE: 525600x1 array with the values of the Swarm-based AE index
