The dataset comprises monitoring data on surface settlement resulting from shield tunneling through red sandstone strata in Hefei, China. This data originates from two projects, A and B, with Project A preceding Project B in terms of construction. Utilizing MATLAB, a predictive model based on machine learning algorithms was developed. The surface settlement data from Project A served as the training dataset for this model, which was then applied to forecast the settlement at certain surface monitoring points for Project B. The dataset includes the following: 1. Surface settlement monitoring data for both Projects A and B; 2. Predicted settlement data for Project B.
