Shotgun metagenomic sequencing of food waste, composts, and poultry-associated samples on a Vermont poultry farm practicing food scrap collection and feeding. The goal of this work was to assess the composition, prevalence, and persistence of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) throughout the composting cycle.
