This is a collection of data of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii suspension confined in air-sealed quasi 2D slit compartments and 3D cylindrical compartments, where bioconvection might form depending on the incident light intensity. Due to the compartment being sealed, the abscence of light causes the cells to switch to aeorbic respiration, and eventually to anaerobic respiration due to the consumption of the available oxygen. As a result the motility of the cells is affected, with the eventual onset of bioconvection.
