Study on vaginal microbial diversity of pregnant women with Group B streptococcal infection

Group B Streptococcus (GBS) can cause infections during late pregnancy, which can result in adverse pregnancy outcomes. While previous studies have primarily focused on evaluating the prevalence of GBS infection in pregnant women, the potential interactions between GBS and the vaginal microbiota composition remain poorly understood. In this study, we collected vaginal secretions from 39 pregnant women. The bacterial 16S rRNA sequencing method was used to analyze the influence of GBS infection on the vaginal microbiota.
